HISTORY

Cargo Carriers was established in 1956 by Desmond Bolton. His two sons, Garth (Executive) and Murray Bolton (late) (Executive), both having been actively involved in the Company.  When Cargo Carriers listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 1987, the company was one of the largest privately owned transport operations in Southern Africa. Our strategic focus shifted in 2002. Our vision was to become more than a reliable and efficient haulier, and we reinvented ourselves as a specialist logistics and supply chain service provider. We have since created a service and value combination tailored to clients within those sectors that suit our unique capabilities and experience: Sugar, Steel, Powders, Fuel, Chemicals, Gas and Mining. We also have a dedicated Supply Chain Solutions division focusing on supply chain management, logistics solutions, supply chain execution systems and software product offering tailormade for the industry. Warehousing and Distribution : this business unit specialises in the warehousing and distribution function with a state-of-the art warehouse located in Johannesburg. Today, our operations cover the entire SADC region, stretching from Cape Town in South Africa to Zambia.
